Cover Letter
Dear Search Committee,

Nutrition is an important factor in everyone’s life and has been especially influential in mine. Because of my experience with autoimmunity, my mother signed me up to receive webinars from the top digestive health experts. Through The Digestive Health Summit I was introduced to Donna Gates, a global expert in the realm of natural foods and nutrition. Learning from Donna about this whole other world we have in our gut sparked my interest in discovering how to use food as medicine. Taking active roles in the psychological and biological spheres on campus further intrigued me to learn about the connection between the gut and brain and how chemical compounds from our food can affect our mood.

My primary goal is to work closely with patients, designing a regimen to best benefit each individual. Such positions require a good understanding of people and a willingness to overcome obstacles. Through education, research, and my own experience, I am fully aware of how natural foods act as medicine. My degree in clinical nutrition and internships have allowed me to gain first-hand experience with patients in a clinical setting and an understanding of various medical conditions and interventions. It has been enormously gratifying to be a part of programs that have allowed my contributions to make a visible difference.

My capacity for change and my ability to utilize my resources creatively and efficiently reinforces my wish to take active roles in the lives of people who need guidance, and my passion for considering the whole human as a unique individual to discover imbalances within the body reinforces my wish to treat disease with a functional, holistic approach to human health and wellness. Through this role as a diet assistant, I can continue to gain experience in a clinical setting and apply what I learn to invest my time in pursuing meaningful roles in the nutrition industry that help others realize the importance of maintaining healthy lifestyle habits.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,

Isabella Cambra
