About Bella

Meet Bella
Nutrition is an important factor in everyone’s life and has been especially influential in mine. My mother has always been an advocate for healthy eating and using food as a first resort for healing. Because of my experience with autoimmune disease, she signed me up to receive
interviews with top digestive health experts. Through The Digestive Health Summit, I was introduced to Dr. Tom O'Bryan and Mark Hyman, global experts in the realm of natural foods and nutrition. Learning about this whole other world we have in our gut sparked my interest in discovering how to use food as medicine. Taking active roles in the psychological and biological spheres on campus further intrigued me to learn more about the connection between the gut and brain and how compounds from our food can affect our mood. The clinical nutrition program at UC Davis and nutrition internships have allowed me to gain first-hand experience with patients in a clinical setting, an understanding of various medical conditions, and to continue refining my path to achieving the goals I’ve set for myself.

My primary goal is to work closely with patients, designing a regimen to best benefit each individual. Such positions require a good understanding of people, a willingness to overcome obstacles, and the capacity to consider each unique individual and the whole human to discover imbalances within the body. In my own life as well as my future career, I hope to treat disease with a functional, holistic approach to human health and wellness.

Aside from inspiring healthy lifestyle habits, I revel in the joys of nature, music, movement, and consciousness exploration!

As a gymnast for many years, I understand the need for caring mentors and a disciplined environment to develop a positive lifestyle. I began “mommy and me” gymnastics classes before I could speak, and soon was a part of the competitive gymnastics team. Learning discipline at a young age taught me to commit myself entirely to whatever I engage in and has allowed me to achieve the high standards I set. Through gymnastics, I became accustomed to intense physical conditioning and the “all or nothing” mindset that shaped my life. It taught me how to take initiative in my own progress and realize the benefits of independent improvement. Not only did gymnastics teach me the discipline required to succeed in competition, but it provided a skill set that furthers all other aspects of life. Growing up with gymnastics as a foundation has inspired me to take an active role in the development of discipline and independence in others.

My capacity for change and ability to utilize my resources creatively and efficiently reinforce my wish to take active roles in the lives of people who need guidance. I believe our health relies so much on our habits of eating, living, working, and sleeping as much as on our environment and the air we breathe, water, soil, and the relationships we keep.
